I am your typical middle age dude who can't see closeup as well anymore... had 20/15 (l) and 20/17 (r) in the days of sharp-shooting, but now can't read a book or focus on my firearm's front sight without optic assistance. Our eye doc said that I do not need prescription glasses, just a pair of 1.25 or 1.50 magnification lenses from the local drugstore. Got 'em in 1.5 and that did the trick, but they are just too skinny for proper protection at the range.
That's where these great Elvex glasses came into play. I didn't know they existed (hey... I have never needed to even look at these type of glasses until now...)
These glasses are very, very comfortable and both my teenage son & daughter give them a thumbs-up for style (she is harder to please than he is...) They hug my head firmly and do not slip when on the range. Matter of fact, I am wearing them right now so you guys get to see less typos in this review!
Excellent product at a really good price, especially with free shipping. Highly recommend these glasses if you are in the same situation (aka getting old...) or if your spouse is. Great purchase for everyday use and for working on firearms (especially when cleaning small parts). The bifocal diopter is located at the bottom-inside sector of each lens and is great for working on firearms, but a bit of a challenge if you plan to try to use it for firing a rifle.... the process of lining up rear and front sight requires you to tilt your head back a decent amount in order to bring the bifocal into play, and that is not really a comfortable or practical solution. Great for firing handguns though - it is a straight view to the POA.
These would make a great gift.
