That means changing outdoor light conditions doesn’t require changing eyewear or carrying several pairs of safety glasses anymore. Designed for comfort, the glasses come with spring adjusted temples that provide a customized fit on either narrow or wide faces, a soft nose bridge that adjusts, and a nylon brow that’s easy going on the forehead. The impact-resistant polycarbonate lenses absorb 99.9% UVA and B rays. These safety glasses are recommended for the following tasks: chipping, chiseling, drilling, grinding, machining, masonry, pouring/casting, power fastening, riveting, sanding and sawing. Do not use this eyewear in an industrial setting without contacting your supervisor or safety specialist to ensure that it will help provide proper protection for the specific hazards in your workplace. Some operations may require special filter lenses, machine guards, goggles, face shields or other safety equipment. Smart Lens™ safety glasses meet the traffic signal requirements of ANSI Z80.3-2008 and the high impact requirements of ANSI Z87.1-2010. Transition from light to dark takes less than 20 seconds (allowing just 22% light transmission), and dark to light takes less than 3 minutes (allowing 77.5% light transmission).
Special care should be taken when moving from outdoors to indoors. Air temperature may affect the lens transition time. Do not store on vehicle dashboard. Pricey but awesome. This is the last pair i would buy if i can keep myself from scratching the lenses. I'm in and out of buildings at work and this keeps me legal and safe. Before these i would carry rated clear safety glasses for my inside tasks and an unrated pair of normal sun glasses when i had to go outside for work. Now I'm safe and only have one pair to keep up with. Comes with a cloth bag...use it. The rule is not on your head then in the case...maybe I won't scratch these. They look great too.

3M Smart Lens Protective Eyewear, with Photochromatic Lens are great eyewear for anyone that works indoors and out, and doesn't require heavyweight eye protection. These 3M glasses meet the high impact requirements of ANSI Z87.1-2003, and the photochromatic lens work fairly well. They darken quickly (about 30 seconds), and transition back to clear in about 2 to 3 minutes. They are very well made, and comfortable. The polycarbonate lens absorb 99.9 percent UV, and can be used as transition sunglasses too. The only cons I can find about the 3M Smart Lens Protective Eyewear is that they aren't cheap, and the lenses do not get as dark as I would really like. With that being said though, they are still one of the best pair of protective eyewear I own. If you you're looking for a pair of protective eyewear for both indoor and outdoor use, I recommend 3M Smart Lens Protective Eyewear.

The 3M Smart Lens safety glasses are stylish and protective all at the same time. The only issue I had with them is how long it takes them to change from sunglasses back into regular safety glasses, other than that they are great glasses for those that have to go in and out frequently. However, be sure to check with your safety admin. at your workplace to make sure they allow photochromatic lenses.
